I’ve been watching the polls all night and I need to hit the sack so I can be on my A game for school tomorrow. As of 10:27, it appears our school board winners are likely to be the following individuals:
District 1: Chris Caldwell
District 3: Teddy King (update 6:28 AM: Stephanie Love is the victor, see below for explanation)
District 5: Scott McCormick
District 6: Shante Avant
District 9: Roshun Austin
Here’s a snapshot of the most up to date voting data as of 10:27, courtesy of ABC24:
Update, 6:28 AM: it appears that the site I got the information from, ABC24, is incorrect one account. Stephanie Love has been confirmed as the D3 winner by Chalkbeat and Channel 5. However, ABC24 still shows Teddy King as having won (seems they’ve switched names). Two sources are confirming Love, so I’ll go with that. Sorry for the misinformation!
Unless something miraculous happens in district 9 it seems likely that these outcomes will hold. A tentative congratulations to our new/returning board members, you have a lot of difficult but very meaningful work ahead of you. Don’t forget those who believed in you and helped you get to where you are today.
